Roy Lichenstein

I first encountered Roy Lichenstein (October 27, 1923 – September 29, 1997) at the Tate Modern in London. I’ve encountered many of my contemporary art obsessions there, including Marcel Duchamp. He is a parody pop artist, adapting his style from American cartoon strips. The paintings are large and vivid, and the content tends to be meaningless or ironic.
